Annual Leave Entitlement

Plans to increase the minimum annual leave entitlement took a step forward this month and new regulations are likely to be approved by Parliament by the end of June, enabling three months notice to be given of the changes.

As we understand it, these changes if approved will mean that all employees will be entitled to 4.8 weeks paid holiday with effect from 1st October 2007.

This will increase to 5.6 weeks from 1st April 2009 and will be pro-rata for part-time workers.
